Marriott International has reached an agreement with Hoteles City Express to acquire the highly regarded City Express brand portfolio, marking Marriott’s entry into the affordable midscale segment with its 31st brand.
In acquiring the Mexico-focused hotel chain, Marriott said it is making a foray into the "affordable midscale segment."
The hotel group says that the US$100 million acquisition will make it "the largest hotel in the Caribbean and Latin America".
