The measure includes a quarter-cent increase in the local sales tax and a 3% increase in the city lodging tax over 20-years. It needs 60% approval to pass. (Fargo, ND) The Fargo City Auditor says nearly 700 absentee ballots have been sent out for the upcoming special election regarding the FargoDome. Nearly 300 ballots have been returned, according to Fargo City Auditor Steve Sprague. The City continues to process ballots “on a daily basis,” he said. The Dec. 5 special election will be conducted entirely by the city of Fargo without the assistance of Cass County, and will rely strictly on paper ballots that will be hand counted later that night.
