Rashtriya Ekta Diwas observed in Manipur

Our Correspondent Imphal, Oct. 31(EMN): The Rashtriya Ekta Diwas was observed at 1st Bn Manipur Rifles parade ground in Imphal with Chief Minister N Biren Singh as chief guest on Monday. Council of ministers, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) Maharaj Leishemba Sanajaoba,MLAs, chairman of boards and corporations, chief secretary, deputy general of police, civil and police officers were present during the observation. Addressing the gathering, Biren Singh said Manipur is moving forward  towards development including improvement in connectivity with other states, and further appealed to the public to join hands and work together for further development of the state. Expressing his desire to witness seriousness of all state government officials, especially high ranking officers during such observations, he stated that Rashtriya Ekta Diwas is observed from 2014 every year on October 31 to mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India.
