George Wallace called state troopers to Tuskegee High School to prevent integration; public schools began integration in South Carolina and Louisiana and a singer named Sheb Wooley (alias: Ben Colder) was still enjoying the chart success of his MGM single "Hello Walls No. 2." The single had made its chart debut in March and had peaked at No. 30.
