Former teacher sentenced for improper touching By John Hamilton - jhamilton@wnewsj.com Weber WILMINGTON A former substitute teacher was sentenced to jail time for inappropriately touching students. Gary Weber, 58, of Clarksville, was sentenced to 180 days in jail in Clinton County Municipal Court on July 26 after pleading guilty to sexual imposition. According to Wilmington Police Det. Bob Wilson, in November the department received a complaint of Weber, a substitute teacher at Wilmington Middle School, inappropriately touching female students. Weber had reportedly inappropriately “brushed up” against the student and put his fingers through the student’s hair. Along with the jail time, Weber must have no contact with the victim or any Wilmington City Schools student. He must also surrender his license to teach in Ohio.

Authorities: Suspect in shooting of wildlife officer has past felony conviction, not legally allowed to use firearms By John Hamilton - jhamilton@wnewsj.com WILMINGTON The deer poacher accused of accidentally shooting a wildlife officer in Clinton County has a past felony conviction for vehicular homicide and is not legally allowed to possess firearms, according to authorities. On Sunday, Dec. 20, the three suspects were believed to have been driving on Macedonia Road in Martinsville when they spotted a buck deer in the woods nearby, according to an affidavit from Clinton County Municipal Court. One of the suspects Brian Liming, 43, of Xenia exited the vehicle, went into the woods, and fired a shot at the deer, the affidavit states.
Blanchester PD: Man waved knife, threatened officer Police say this is the knife the suspect was brandishing. BLANCHESTER A Blanchester man faces charges after he was waving around a knife and later threated a police officer with that knife, police said. Shortly after 3 p.m. Sunday police were called to the McDonald’s restaurant at 201 W. Main St. on a report of a man in the parking lot waving a knife around, Blanchester Police Chief Scott Reinbolt said in a news release. “An officer responded but did not see the man,” Reinbolt said. “A call was then received that the same man was in the parking lot of First National Bank at 121 E. Main St. using a knife to threaten a man there.
