Snowfall. and that cold air is tremendous. and with that a lot of wind damage, too. the warnings are starting to get whittled away and it s good news. it s a fast-moving system. now just a coastal area. but with that heavy snowfall we re seeing widespread power outages. a few tornadoes down in georgia, jake, with downed trees. with that heavy snow, really impacting the area, especially around alexandria. we re going to have power outages for a while. and that bitter cold will be with us. worst time to lose power up toward areas around nantucket. but this one is moving out. the first snowfall of the year in many locations and you had thundersnow from boone, north carolina, to baltimore. that s when it s snowing two, three inches an hour. heavy concentration in areas of virginia, areas of d.c. with the power outage. now the cold sets in. the cold front sliding down through florida and key west. the next batch is on the way from central canada and here it comes a little clipper. even more ....

Portions of of the great lakes and midwest. and this is all from the recent snowstorm that allowed for that snow to fall. in fact, we had nearly a foot of snow in kansas in some locations. there are still winter storm warnings, weather advisories and blizzard warnings just downwind from the lake superior region. we re really starting to kick in that lake enhanced snow machine all too familiar this time of for so many people including myself. you can see the latest radar showing some of that snow moving through as a clipper pierces the region. we have over 50-mile per hour gusts today. that s how many people impacted by this wind alert in place. this is the clipper system. it s not going to produce much in terms of snowfall for the big cities, but you can see a few flakes fly later from boston, philadelphia, d.c. ....
