FRUSTRATED residents are at the end of their tether after having to put up with speeding and traffic problems on a narrow country lane in Thornton for many years. School Green resident Tracey Thompson said: It s disgusting. It used to be a side road, but now it s the main cut through from one side of Bradford to the other. People come off the roundabout and go hell for leather, said Miss Thompson. We ve had walls knocked down, wing mirrors knocked off, cats killed and road rage incidents at the junction because drivers won t give way. The road isn t designed for the amount of traffic on it. ....

Hundreds of Bradfordians voted for the community worker who has dedicated years of his life to events, celebrations and efforts to boost equality. From fundraising to save the Checkpoint West Indian Centre in 2017 to performing at the Black History Month Community Festival in 2010, those who nominated Jerry said he is very much about his heritage and fighting for equality . He is also a key part of shouting up about the history and heritage of Bradford s Windrush generation and the lasting impact as a result of Windrush. ....
MORRISONS has been creating sunshine in Allerton and Thornton despite the Wintery weather with random acts of kindness. Lily Romani, community champion at Girlington Morrisons, teamed up with Cllr Bev Mullaney (Labour, Allerton) to brighten up people s days. The parcels - filled with sweet treats - were handed out to bin workers, scrap collectors, post wardens as well as the elderly and young. The Morrisons Acts of Community Kindness activity aims to help customers and communities feel festive this year after nearly half of adults reported that their well-being was being affected by the coronavirus pandemic. The activity is expected to touch the lives of tens of thousands of people living throughout the UK in the 12 days leading up to Christmas. ....
