'Reopen our play parks': Wooburn and Bourne End parents plead with council amid Covid-19 closures

Parks in Wooburn and Bourne End have been shut for safety reasons
Parents “concerned for the wellbeing of our children” have begged council officials to reopen village play parks.
Nearly 100 parents signed a letter to Wooburn and Bourne End Parish Council saying they were disappointed that playgrounds in the area had been shut because of Covid-19.
Parks managed by the parish council have been closed since January 6 in a bid to try and reduce the spread of coronavirus, but not everyone has supported the decision.
Amanda Carthy set up a petition to get the parks reopened and in a letter to the council, said: “We believe that the benefits of playgrounds to our local children outweigh the risks of transmission. ....

Sappers Field sinkhole could cost up to £100k to fix

A contract for filling in the huge hole is currently out to tender.
Wooburn and Bourne End Parish Council clerk Malcolm Silver said whichever company is chosen to carry out the work will make the field “useable” again.
Cllr Tim Bingham said it should be made clear to Bucks Council that they want the ownership returned to them once the work is completed in case they decide to keep it.
Mr Silver said: “It is us that maintains it and looks after it. The council is going to get it fixed but it won’t be cheap.
“Residents have said they are prepared to contribute to the costs, and if we are prepared to contribute and Bucks is prepared to contribute, we are close to getting it secured. ....
