COUNCILLORS are calling for measures to protect local residents after a plans panel decision to allow expansion at Leeds Bradford airport. Otley and Yeadon councillors Sandy Lay and Ryk Downes have written to Leeds City Council’s Director of Planning asking for further measures. Cllr Lay said: We understand that Leeds have given permission for a new terminal and night time flying but the panel asked officers to renegotiate some of the proposed planning conditions. We have therefore written to the director with suggestions which reflect the comments we have received from local residents particularly around the impact of three million extra passengers using the airport. ....
