I just reported the break z news off the bw parkway and the nsa. they re located just about a half hour from washington, d.c. you can see the two crashed vehicles and you see security gates there. you have to stop at the security gates in order to gain entrance to fort meade and the nsa, the nation s spy agencies. you can see there are crashed cars at the scene. it appears to me that those cars tried to crash the gates and were stopped. our affiliate in washington wjla reported there were tweets of shots fired. cnn cannot confirm that but that would certainly make sense because there s a reason this area is heavily fortified, not in the least because the spy agency is located here but fort meade with its 6,000 military personnel and there are 29,000 civilians who work on this base and they want to protect all of these people from whatever harm may come. ....

Question its authenticity. carol? frederik pleitgen reporting live for us this morning. all right, we don t have much information about this but it certainly seems disturbing. you re looking at live pictures from fort nee off the bw parkway near washington, d.c. this is where the nsa is located, that s the spy agency as you know all of this is coming from our local affiliate in washington wjla. police are investigating this incident at fort meade. this is from news chopper 7. it shows police officers and damaged vehicles but the exact cause of the police investigation is still unclear. there was a tweet from county police that initially reference add report of a shooting. cnn cannot confirm that at this time and no further details about this incident have been released. but, of course you can see this is a very serious incident. it s the nation s spy agency. ....

Welcome back. we re following breaking news for you. this is coming from outside of washington. police and fbi reporting to a disturbance of some kind at fort meade. this video is from our cnn affiliate wjla. you can see badly damaged vehicles near a security gate there and what appears to be a body lying on the concrete there covered with a white sheet. according to the washington post and other news media, this is on the campus on the national security administration, the nsa, the american spy agency which is housed at this army installation. we do have reports from local police as in tweets from anne arundel county one dead and one injured. jim sciutto has been working his sources. he has a bit more information for us. what have you got, jim? ....

carol, still seeking comment from the nsa. the nsa is not commenting yet on this to cnn. but the latest information coming from police in an arendellaren arundel county maryland just about a half hour from downtown washington, d.c. anne arundel county police are saying one person killed one injured. they say a security officer is being transferred. you hear from the fire department in the area who say they responded to this incident right now. as i m speaking you can see the pictures there of what clearly was an incident. you see a police suv there that looks like it has been rammed. you see another civilian vehicle in the foreground that looks to have tried to run the security cordon there and, again, this is hard to say but as we zoom in you see what could be a body under a white sheet there. that is not confirmed, though ....

Lured by isis and their powerful propaganda. in brooklyn in february three men including a 19-year-old were arrested for allegedly attempting to wage jihad with isis. three teenaged girls from denver were caught in germany, not far from their alleged goal of joining isis in syria. there s a growing trend for very young teenagers to try and travel to join isis. we have seen this at the united states and we have seen this also in europe. a lot of these young teenagers are very impressionable so it s easy for them to be brainwashed by this message and a lot of them are spending a lot of time on social media which is a kind of virtual radical echo chamber. isis claims on its official website that it was an american suicide bomber who carried out an attack south of tikrit on monday. cnn cannot confirm that claim and even the iraqi authorities investigating that car bombing, they could not confirm the nationality of that bomber. ....
