District 1 – Baudette area
CO Ben Huener (Roseau) checked anglers on Lake of the Woods and the Roseau River. A joint detail was worked with the U.S. Coast Guard. A complaint was taken about a possible wolf depredation, and a state trapper was set up to trap in the area north of Badger. 
CO Marc Johnson (Warroad) primarily worked angling activity on Lake of the Woods and ATVing enforcement. He also monitored public accesses. In addition, time was spent investigating dredging activity and a partially sunken boat at a local marina. 
CO Corey Sura (Baudette) worked angling activity on Upper Red Lake, Lake of the Woods, and the Rainy River. Time was spent investigating a minnow-trapping complaint, assisting volunteers with a local ATV safety class, and participating in a kids fishing event with fifth- and sixth-grade students from Kelliher.

CO Ben Huener (Roseau) checked turkey hunters and pike anglers. Enforcement action was taken in Marshall County for an untagged turkey that was being transported. On the Warroad River, enforcement action was taken for fishing without a license, fishing for northern pike and walleyes out of season and angling with an extra line from a kayak.

CO Ben Huener (Roseau) did follow-up work on a couple of arson cases. Contact was made with a turkey hunter who was putting out bait to attract turkeys. The hunter was informed of turkey baiting laws, which are very similar to deer-baiting laws. Online training was completed.

CO Ben Huener (Roseau) investigated arson fires in western Roseau County and Kittson County. Evidence was transported to the BCA lab in Bemidji.
CO Marc Johnson (Warroad) worked angling activity on the Rainy River and public accesses, patrolled local state parks and forests, responded to calls for service, and answered questions regarding Lake of the Woods and Rainy River fishing regulations. In addition, a detail focusing on fire prevention was worked with DNR Forestry. 
CO Corey Sura (Baudette) monitored public accesses on the Rainy River, worked boat and water enforcement, and assisted DNR Forestry with additional patrol, looking for any fire or burning activity while restrictions are in place. Enforcement action was taken for violations including fishing without a license, fishing with extra lines, fishing with unattended lines, open burning during a burn ban, open burning of garbage, and miscellaneous boating safety equipment and registration violations.

CO Demosthenes Regas (Blackduck) reports checking anglers and monitoring activity on snowmobile trails this week. Regas reports the warm weather this past week took a toll on snowmobile trails, which deteriorated quickly and are in poor condition.
CO Nicholas Prachar (Blackduck) investigated an area river that had been filled in with dirt and debris. An area logger had made two river crossings, but they were not in compliance with the allowed parameters. Prachar advised the logger on what was legal for river crossings and gave him 24 hours to correct the issues. Both crossings were brought into compliance within four hours.

CO Demosthenes Regas (Blackduck South) reports working snowmobiling and angling activity throughout this past week. Anglers reported a slow bite despite their efforts in the bitter cold. Time was spent patrolling area trails and handling trespassing complaints. Enforcement action included possession of dressed fillets on the ice, allowing illegal snowmobile operation by juveniles and snowmobiles trespassing on agricultural lands.

CO Demosthenes Regas (Blackduck) reports working trapping, snowmobiling, and angling activity this past week. Time was spent patrolling area trails, assisting Bemidji DNR Wildlife with the bobcat/fur registration and conducting follow-up investigation of ongoing trapping cases. Regas also handled two separate incidents of incidental catches of wolves in trappers’ coyote sets. 
CO Marc Johnson (Warroad) assisted with furbearer registration and worked angling activity on Lake of the Woods and at the Northwest Angle. Violations encountered included fishing with extra lines, taking fish with no angling license, no permanent shelter tag/identification, and no angling license in possession.

District 1 - Baudette area
CO Ben Huener (Roseau) checked anglers on Lake of the Woods, as well as archery deer hunting and trapping activity around Roseau County. Ice on Lake of the Woods is good for the most part, but stubborn cracks keep opening in several places, keeping anglers from going out very far. Violations for the past week included hunting deer with the aid of bait, possessing an overlimit of walleyes, possession of marijuana, angling with an extra line and felony possession of cocaine.
