RALEIGH — As smoke from Canada continues to travel south, fine particle pollution will remain elevated in parts of North Carolina on Friday.
North Carolina’s State Climatologist says climate change has played an indirect role in the fires in Canada impacting ENC air quality this week.
Particle pollution is expected to increase taking air quality levels to code yellow and orange. Sunny and warmer this weekend with a late Sunday rain chance.
Air pollution levels across most of North Carolina are expected to fall Friday, but some areas remain Code Orange for fine particulates.
Air quality is improving in York County and will continue to improve.
