Historical Coin Press No. 1 at the Nevada State Museum, Carson City, has resumed demonstrations Saturdays in January and February, with the minting of a commemorative medallion honoring Western explorer John C. Fremont.
Historic Coin Press No. 1 is back in service at the Nevada State Museum in Carson City. The 154-year-old artifact is the only coin press of its kind still in operation. Coin Press No. 1 demonstrations occur every Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. inside the historic Carson City Mint building at the Nevada State Museum.
