Spotlight: Reading is fundamental in lessons Colbert taught his students
As a 6-year-old at Holcomb Elementary School, one of Samantha Arroyos' favorite days of the school year was Dr. Seuss Day, when then-principal Dr. John L Colbert animatedly read and acted out the Seuss classic "Green Eggs and Ham." She and her friends hung on his every word as his eyes lit up and his voice changed to make the story feel real.
