ARKADELPHIA -- The Northwest Missouri State Bearcats, long a small-college standard bearer, were nearly unstoppable as they advanced through the first round of the NCAA Division II Football Playoffs with a 47-17 victory over the Ouachita Baptist Tigers at Cliff Harris Stadium on Saturday.
The good news is the new-look Lincoln Blue Tigers will take the field at Dwight T. Reed Stadium for the first time this season at 2 p.m. today. The bad news is the Northwest Missouri Bearcats will be on the other sideline. After dropping the season opener 45-3 last Thursday against Washburn in Topeka, Kan., things figure to get even harder today for the Blue Tigers.
