"I Am Jazz," "Almost Perfect" and "Two Boys Kissing" were deemed appropriate for certain age groups by two committees reviewing 16 challenged books.
The panels have completed 12 of 16 books targeted by a conservative group. The Polk County School Board is set to discuss the books Tuesday.
By wide margins, book review committees approved 'It's Perfectly Normal' and 'Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close' for high schools and middle schools.
One committee voted overwhelmingly to keep "George" available at all grade levels. The second panel said 'The Vincent Boys' is OK for high schools.
The 34 adults and 15 students will have three months to review the books that have been challenged by a conservative group as pornographic.
