Agnosticism and atheism have quite publically arrived, in modernity. But, like the proverbial “elephant in the room,” I don’t think the Christian church universally, let alone Adventism specifically, is seriously addressing it.

Adventism seems unwilling to wrestle with the science/religion divide. Leadership takes its orthodoxy as axiomatic. And is actively hostile toward propositions uncongenial to these cherished beliefs. This is unconstructive in a 21st Century world.
