Man sentenced for girlfriend's killing; victim's body found in Woodland

A Colusa County man who killed his former girlfriend and dumped her body in Woodland just days after the victim’s sister died in a horrific head-on crash was sentenced to prison last week after pleading guilty to manslaughter and other charges.
Originally charged with murder, Salvador Vaca Garcia Jr. struck a plea deal in which he admitted to the voluntary manslaughter of Karen Garcia Romero, as well as the use of a firearm, kidnapping and robbery, according to Colusa Superior Court online records. He also pleaded guilty to a domestic-violence charge pending at the time of Garcia’s death. ....
