  Rising to a point of personal privilege, I’m dealing today with Jeff Danziger’s memoir of his time in Vietnam despite the one disappointment, that it is only minimally illustrated by one of my favorite political cartoonists. I have been spoiled by the in-depth WWII artwork featured in “Yank, the Army Weekly,” but those illustrators were sent with pads and pencils to record the war at the time. In a way I got to feel that the way [Lee Falk] tried to minimize my impact on the strip every turn he could find. I began to get more and more turned off to him. I tried my best to be pleasant with him and tried to look away at some of the things he did behind my back, some pretty sneaky, but I just, I found out about him and I let my lawyer know what it was about and he said, “we’ll just have to stay more wary of it” you know. But never the less it never quite affected me financially, but it could have if I hadn’t found out in time.

This Juxtaposition at GoComics struck me today not just because two cartoonists played with the same concept, but because it’s a pair of evergreen gags.
