Road Commission of Kalamazoo County reminds residents of storm safety tips By Will Kriss Jun 29, 2021 | 4:51 PM KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) â Due to recent and continuing stormy weather conditions, the Road Commission of Kalamazoo County (RCKC) shared a reminder of storm safety tips on Tuesday. Most of the reminders center around water and trees over county roadways. âWhen a large amount of rainfall occurs, it affects road conditions as well as potentially delaying construction projects,â officials said in a statement. âThe RCKC team has been working around the clock throughout the duration of recent storms.â The reminders, including statements from the RCKC, can be viewed below:

Road Commission of Kalamazoo County announces Sprinkle Road construction work By Will Kriss Jun 15, 2021 | 3:35 PM KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Road Commission of Kalamazoo County (RCKC) has a confirmed start date for the Sprinkle Road project between N Avenue/Kilgore Road and Milham Avenue, according to an official announcement Tuesday. Elli Blonde of the Road Commission confirmed with WKZO that the work will begin next Monday, June 21. The Commission says Sprinkle Road is one of the highest traffic volume roads on the county road system, which sees approximately 30,000 vehicles per day. Readers should note that this average daily traffic count does not include the potential increase from the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) I-94 detour routes.
