Oxnard approves downtown homeless shelter
Oxnard city officials looked long and hard for a site to build a second homeless shelter, examining many properties with "not in my back yard" issues before settling this week on a location: City Hall's own backyard. The City Council on Tuesday night unanimously approved construction of the five-story $34 million facility on a city lot across the street from City Hall and the main library.
