SINGAPORE (The Straits Times/Asia News Network): Singapore has climbed two spots to become the world's third-most competitive economy, after falling from first to fifth place last year.
India has witnessed the sharpest rise among the Asian economies, with a six-position jump from 43rd to 37th rank on the annual World Competitiveness Index compiled by the Institute for Management Development. Gains in economic performance helped India make the big jump.
