On March 31 2021, Members of Parliament passed the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) Bill, which seeks to provide universal healthcare to all Ugandans.
However, before its’ passing, the State Minister of Health Robinah Nabbanja had said the Bill in its current state needed to be withdrawn pending consultations from stakeholders. Instead of withdrawing the Bill, the Minister ought to have asked for some more time before Parliament considers the Bill. ....

Hong Kong: Hong Kong migrant worker groups criticised plans to make coronavirus vaccines compulsory for all foreign domestic helpers, labelling the move “discriminatory and unjust”.
Health officials said they were planning to roll out mandatory inoculations for the 370,000 domestic helpers in the city, mostly poorly-paid women from the Philippines and Indonesia.
Those wanting to apply for work visas – or renew their current ones – would need to show they had been vaccinated, officials said on Friday.
If the plan goes ahead, it would be the first time Hong Kong has directly tied working rights for foreigners to vaccines. ....

Starting 8 a.m. on Sunday, the counting of votes for the 822 Assembly seats spread across West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Assam, Kerala and Puducherry will take place at 2,364 counting halls following the COVID-19 protocols, the Election Commission (EC) said on Saturday. ....
