EPFL, ETH Zurich and the Red Cross team up to bolster humanitarian aid with science
The Engineering Humanitarian Aid initiative, officially launched on 10 December 2020, will harness the expertise of Switzerland s two federal institutes of technology to benefit humanitarian aid programs. The effort will focus on the areas of energy and the environment, data sciences and digital technologies, and personalized health and related technologies.

Humanitarian aid organizations are now facing unprecedented challenges, which science and technology can help to overcome. Remake of Vietnamese classical opera play enthralls audience

A remake of the renowned Vietnamese classical opera play ‘Son Hau’ has been performed in a public space of an old terraced building in Van Chuong alley in downtown Hanoi. The play has enthralled both senior residents and youngsters as it is a cool combination of the traditional art form and contemporary art.
No fancy stage is set up. Actors perform an excerpt in the renowned Vietnamese classical opera play ‘Son Hau’ in the middle of a public playground. Here, the mossy wall becomes the backdrop while slide and stairs make a perfect setting for the play. ....

Immersion in virtual environments stimulates several sensory systems, especially sight and hearing, and intensifies central nervous system information input and output.
