Yorkers. it was such a powerful moment indeed. i don t know you re a new yorker, have you ever seen central park with so many metal detectors lined up right at columbus circle right behind us over there? no. i m looking at that line over there and it s amazing what s going on. it is. and i have to say i have to give the new york police department, of course the secret service and vatican security credit for coming up meeting this enormous logistical challenge. it s tough to move 100,000 people into close proximity with the pope in light of the threat picture which we have to acknowledge that they consider him under threat here in the u.s. this is, yes, it s a little later than they said but looks like all those people are going to get it in time. i was going to say they will get in and they will be so excited. go ahead, john. i was just going to say it s worth saying that it is actually tougher to get into central park to see the pope today than it is normally to get into s ....
By tonight. i see there s not a whole lot on the pope s schedule. so today is devoted to rest, take it easy. tomorrow really gets frantic. he had busy days in cuba. it gives him time to rest. how is his stamina? he s 78? 78 and going to be 79 in december. wow. i always answer that question watch him on wednesdays, wednesdays are the general audience which is a combination of catechism class and pep rally, and he takes the jeep through the crowd which could be anywhere from 30,000 to 100,000. he does the catechism, he greets everybody, then afterwards he greets everybody who s sick one by one. there are often more than 100 people there. i find that quite impressive that at his age he s there to give them that time and show his concern for them. did he still stick to his guns, when he first became pontiff he was known for carrying his own luggage, making his own meals. i m sure some of that has changed now as pope, but ....

Have to take into account the issues that they care about. president obama gave a hat tip to compromise and congressional republicans gave what amounts to a hat tip of their own by inviting the president to deliver his state of the union in the u.s. capitol building. i love what sort of amounts to compromise at this point. it s like we re going to let you give the address that every president gives every year, you re welcome. this president has been afforded so much less respect from the republicans in congress than we have seen ever in history. and now that they have both chambers or are going to have both chambers the question is how low can it go? we re still going to call you mr. president. how about that? you re welcome. on wednesdays. every other wednesdayly or monthly wednesday. ....
