Investigators probe cause of Westerly fire; resident's body found inside
The body of a 52-year-old Westerly man was found inside a house destroyed by fire Saturday, according to the Westerly police. The body of Connell Coffey, a resident, was found after the fire at 229 Westerly Bradford Road was put out, Westerly Police Chief Shawn Lacey said. Members of the Westerly Police Department and Dunn's Corner Fire Department responded to the fire at 7 p.m., Lacey said. Despite the Fire Department's efforts, the house was a total loss, he said.
