Austin police on Wednesday identified a pedestrian killed earlier this month in city traffic as 21-year-old Connor Avery Hughes. A preliminary police investigation found that Hughes was struck by a blue Chevrolet Cruze as he tried to cross the middle of the 4000 block of Airport Boulevard just before 9:20 p.m. on Jan. 9. Austin-Travis County EMS medics took Hughes to Dell Seton Medical Center, where he died on Jan. 11. He had just turned 21 on Jan. 5.
