Iowa Teen Shows Up For Work At Subway, Gets Stabbed An Iowa teen got a very unfortunate surprise when he got to work at his job at Subway Wednesday afternoon. 18-year-old Connor Kernes showed up for his shift at the Subway location at 3701 East 14th Street in Des Moines on Wednesday, April 7 at around 3:30 p.m. According to KCCI, when he walked into the store, another young man was apparently waiting for him. Things escalated very quickly. Des Moines Police Department Sgt. Paul Parizek told KCCI, When we reviewed the video, it looked like the suspect was already in the store … maybe getting ready to order some food. The victim walked in, there was a real brief instance where they looked like maybe they exchanged a few words and then he was stabbed. (It was) just that sudden. ....
