Study finds 20 per cent of people aged 50 or older had one or more ageing organs
A new study led by Stanford Medicine scientists demonstrates a simple way of studying organ aging by analyzing distinct proteins, or sets of them, in blood, enabling the prediction of individuals’ risk for diseases
A test that analyzes specific sets of proteins in the blood can tell us how fast each of our organs is aging, enabling the prediction of disease risk and earlier intervention.
"We can estimate the biological age of an organ in an apparently healthy person" and predict "a person's risk for disease," a neurologist said.
