Opportunity to have the social services but we re going to be more consistent on making those arrests and not allowing people to use drugs on our streets because that s where we see the behavior, overdoses and deaths. we have to stop that. you re talking about beyond marijuana or including marijuana. no, i m talking beyond marijuana. we have a fentanyl crisis in this city beyond belief. what do you mean you re trying to do too many things? over the years law enforcement this is the second major police force i ve worked for. we ve been asked to do many things that go beyond really the core functions and look, we have to get people to a better place. people call 911 or 311 and behave to respond and help them. but we also have to bring the social services in so the officers aren t doing that side of the evasion as much as we ve been asked to do and, you know, this city has a lot of services ....

This is the second major city i ve worked for in a policing capacity, and we ve been asked to do many things that go beyond really the core functions. look, we have to get people to a better place. people call 911 or 311, and we have to respond and help them. but we also have to bring the social services in so the officers aren t doing that side of the equation as much as we ve been asked to do. mm-hmm. this city has a lot of services, and i think we are committed to doing a better job to bringing all this together so our officers can do really our core function, and that s, you know, stopping crime, stopping violent crime, stopping open-air drug uses and open-air sales. we ve been pushed beyond that. you know, we ve been asked to address this the unhoused crisis in our city in a way that goes beyond what we re trained to do and what we should be doing. i think this is music to my ears and many of our officers most of our officers, this is a welcome thing. and probably to many ....

Flourish. if it s part of facebook s core function, do they have any interest in actually making their platform safer? i mean, i really think a lot of these discussions boil down to exactly that. if people inside of the company if the people who know facebook s products the best are saying, look, the way things go viral on this platform can be dangerous to people and we need to tamp those down, and folks tat the top of the compan are either unwilling or unable to rein that in, for whatever reason want to say, if you think it s profit, if you think it s growth, then that s you know, that s really that s the heart of the issue, you know. are they going to be able to do enough if they don t change some core functions. mark keeps saying we ll hire more people. we re training artificial intelligence to sort of fix some of these problems, but, you know, folks inside are not convinced it will do the trick until you really change the core products. that s the issue, you know, ....
