Main: Say: Sharing information that we know or have learned can be exciting.  Learning something new is fun and it is just as much fun to share with someone. Many times, we speak to someone to tell them what we have learned.  That is a great way to share because the person can ask questions to find out more information. Writing is also a good way to share what you have learned.  When you are writing about information that you have learned, it is important to include as much information as you can. When figuring out an addition problem, it is a good idea to draw a picture to help you.  If you were adding 1 + 2, you could draw one circle and then two more circles.  (Demonstrate this)

Sometimes, snowflakes fall apart of stick together as they are falling from the clouds.  This may be why some snowflakes look different. There are also snowflakes that form and look like cylinders and cryst...

Emergency Sub Plan: Hibernation - Reading (Gr 1)

Main: Say: Hibernation is when animals go into a deep sleep.  Some animals barely breathe and the temperature of their body gets very cold.  Why do you think animals hibernate?  (Allow the students to answer.) Animals hibernate so that they do not have to be outside in the winter.  Many animals that hibernate find a place to curl up and they hibernate all winter!  Other animals only hibernate for a few months and then wake up. When an animal is done hibernating, they start breathing normally and the temperature of their body goes back to normal. To get ready to hibernate, animals eat a l...
