Authorities launched an investigation after discovering 13 abandoned dogs at the Just Like Home Dog Boarding facility, located east of Denver.
Deputies from both Gilpin and Jefferson counties were called Sunday morning to the "Just Like Home Dog Boarding" facility.
The backyard of the canine facility was also strewn with safety hazards and littered with nails and sharp objects.
