Mary E. McLaughlin, 96 December 24th, 2020 LOVELL Mary E. (Haggerty) McLaughlin, 96, of Lovell, formerly of Medford and Tewksbury, Mass., passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2020. She was the beloved wife of the late Eugene J. McLaughlin. Born and raised in Medford, Mary attended St. Joseph Elementary School and graduated from Medford High School. She married her high school sweetheart in the middle of WWII on June 28, 1942. After the war, they resided in temporary military housing on the grounds of Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford and began to raise a family. In 1955, Gene and Mary moved to Tewksbury, Mass. where they raised eight children. Mary followed her sons and moved to Lovell in 1983, six years after her husband’s death. Her desire was to create lasting memories for her children and grandchildren of “visiting a grandmother in the woods,” memories she cherished from her own childhood with her own grandmother. ....
