Visual artist Courtney Wollet, a Hillsdale native, will be featured at an upcoming exhibition in Ann Arbor.
The exhibit, through June 26, features her original mixed media work “Identity Blueprint” at The Gutman Gallery, 118 North 4th Avenue, downtown Ann Arbor, near Kerrytown. Hours for the exhibit are from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Wednesday to Saturday.
Wollet, 25, also had work displayed at Hillsdale’s “Art Around Town” exhibition in 2018. She is a 2014 graduate of Hillsdale Academy and graduated from the University of Michigan in 2018 with a major in communication and a minor in art and design.
“The work is a mixed-media self portrait that explores my identity through the countless, short-lived passions that have informed my sense of self since childhood,” Wollet said. “Each layer features drypoint illustrations of these interests, carefully printed on tissue paper. The layers are stacked like old blueprints, outlining the many seemingly unrelated paths I’ve wandered that have come together to shape who I am today.
