Oldham News | Main News | Plans revealed for how new Oldham town centre school will look


Designs for the new high school in Oldham which will be called the Brian Clarke Church of England Academy
An academy trust has revealed the designs for a proposed new 1,200-pupil high school in the heart of Oldham town centre.
The Cranmer Education Trust is aiming to build the new school, named the Brian Clarke Church of England Academy, on land off Booth Street.
The brownfield site, near to Oldham Leisure Centre was previously occupied by a Sainsbury’s supermarket which has now been demolished.
The trust says that in its place there will be a ‘unique, high quality, light, airy and well-designed building, rich with colour, that will inspire the whole school community and lift aspirations’. ....

2021 promises to be a big year for Oldham with a raft of exciting projects set to take major steps forward.
Despite the challenges brought by the coronavirus pandemic, infrastructure masterplans for the borough have continued apace.
These include plans to transform the historic Egyptian Room in the town centre into a food and drink hall in the style of Manchester’s Mackie Mayor and Altrincham Market.
Bosses are also hoping to progress the Northern Roots project to create a huge 160 acre eco park and urban farm on green land in Snipe Clough. ....
