The 65th Otero Arts Festival has announced the dates for the 2021 contest categories. The festival plans to host the public viewing of the visual arts and creative writing from March 30 through April 1 in the Rizzuto Banquet Room at Otero Junior College. The festival is open to area students grades 7-12. They will be able to compete in several categories including Visual Arts, Creative Writing, Music and Theatrical contests. Ribbons will be awarded at each level of the competition, with OJC scholarships to be awarded to the top high school senior competitor in each category. The Otero Arts Festival will showcase these categories from middle and high school students throughout southeast Colorado. It invites students to share what inspires them to make their imagination come to life in their creative writings, visual arts, music or the theatrical competition. All students are encouraged to enter, but they do not have to be currently participating in art, band or drama at their schools to enter. Students may enter all contests independently.
