Ukraine has unleashed the largest drone offensive yet, firing 19 drones toward Russian targets in the Black Sea and Crimea.

Moscow said on Sunday its forces had thwarted a Ukrainian attempt to attack Russia-annexed Crimea with 25 drones overnight.

A drone attack on an ammunition depot in Crimea prompted authorities to evacuate a 5-km (3-mile) radius and briefly suspend road traffic on the bridge linking the peninsula to Russia.

Russia has claimed that Ukraine tried to assassinate Vladimir Putin and that it thwarted two drone strikes on Kremlin. A video circulating on Russian social media showed what appeared to be fire and a plume of smoke on one of the domes of the Kremlin. Vladimir Putin was not at the Kremlin when the attack allegedly took place. Ukraine has denied any such attempt, and President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that 'we are defending our villages and cities, we do not have enough weapons for this.' Russia's defence ministry on Sunday said it had recovered and analysed the wreckage of drones used to attack ships of Russia's Black Sea Fleet in Crimea the day before, finding that the drones were equipped with Canadian-made navigation.
