"A Verifiable and Fair Attribute-based Proxy Re-encryption Scheme for D" by Chunpeng Ge, Willy Susilo et al.

Abstract
To manage outsourced encrypted data sharing in clouds, attribute-based proxy re-encryption (ABPRE) has become an elegant primitive. In ABPRE, a cloud server can transform an original recipient s ciphertext to a new one of a shared user s. As the transformation is computation consuming, a malicious cloud server may return an incorrect re-encrypted ciphertext to save its computation resources. Moreover, a shared user may accuse the cloud server of returning an incorrect re-encrypted ciphertext to refuse to pay the cost of using the cloud service. However, existing ABPRE schemes do not support a mechanism to achieve verifiability and fairness. In this paper, a novel verifiable and fair attribute-based proxy re-encryption (VF-ABPRE) scheme is introduced to support verifiability and fairness. The verifiability enables a shared user to verify whether the re-encrypted ciphertext returned by the server is correct and the fairness ensures a cloud server escape from malicious a ....

Bitcoin carnage: It is too soon to say cryptocurrency bubble has burst

Bitcoin goes a bit crazy
Fiat currencies are never this exciting. Bitcoin set its most recent high, of just under $65,000, on April 14. After that it had steadily given ground, and that became a headlong crash in the early hours of Wednesday morning. By 9 am New York time, bitcoin hit $30,016 a fall of almost 54 per cent in five weeks. Over the next four hours, it rallied almost 36 per cent. At the time of writing, the price is $39,000. It was quite a ride.
Bitcoin is still blessed, or plagued, with believers rather than investors. There are lots of great arguments for bitcoin, and even more for the blockchain technology on which it is based. While it inspires cultish devotion, it is difficult to analyse as an investable asset. ....

Futures fall as technology stocks lag ahead of US Federal Reserve minutes

US stock index futures fell for the third straight session on Wednesday, led by losses in rate-sensitive technology stocks on fears that rising inflation could force the US Federal Reserve to pare back its support soon.
The yield on 10-year Treasury notes touched a one-week high, driving down shares of Apple Inc, Microsoft Corp and Facebook Inc by about 1 per cent premarket.
Tech and other growth stocks are sensitive to yields as their value rests heavily on earnings years into the future, which are discounted more deeply when expectations of interest rates hikes rise.
Investors will also focus on minutes from the Fed s April policy meeting, where it stood pat on interest rates. The statement is due to be issued at 2 p.m. ET (1800 GMT). ....

The cryptocurrency exchange platform Coinbase has caved. After a long silence to the hoards imploring the company to let them trade Dogecoin, they’ve decided to list the meme, adding a sheen of legitimacy to a cryptocurrency with limitless supply, which whales could squash with a whale-sized dump at any moment. On a call with investors on Thursday, CEO Brian Armstrong said that Coinbase aims to list it in six to eight weeks.

The Doge fans have been wondering why Coinbase has been leaving money on the table. Doge now commands a heart-stopping trading volume and an equally terror-inducing current market cap of $72 billion higher than 77 percent of companies listed on the S&P 500. Fees vary with flat rates for lower purchases, but Coinbase typically charges users a 1.49% fee on transactions made through your bank account. So if, say, Coinbase users bought $1 billion of Dogec ....
