The father of Jovanus Turay, the student who shot his colleague to death on April 13, has openly apologized to the bereaved family for the tragic situation.
Late Precious Ireland met her untimely demise on Tuesday, April 13 from a gunshot fired by student Jovanus Turay, both students of the Cyber-ED Christian School of Excellence located on Sophie Road, Congo-town, Monrovia.
Jovanus’s father, Sylvanus Turay, in a Facebook video condemned his son’s action and pleaded with the victim’s family for forgiveness.
Turay furthered that his family is horrified; heartbroken, and disappointed just like the Ireland’s families who lost their daughter. The suspect’s father who is a career actor, said his family and the Ireland family are very close and his son did not mean to kill Precious. ....

MONROVIA – The father of 16-year-old student Jovanus Oliver Turay, who allegedly shot his 14-year-old school mate to death at the Cyber-Ed Christian School of Excellence, Mr. Sylvanus Turay, has described the incident as a “heartbreaking and disappointing” happening that has broken down and “killed” many people, including him.
Police in Monrovia are investigating students of two high school students of the Cy-Ed Christian School of Excellence for the murder of 16-year-old school mate on campus with a 9mm pistol. ....

Jovanus in several pictures is seen either holding a gun or using his hand to portray shooting at someone or himself.

Monrovia – The Liberia National Commission on Small Arms (LiNCSA) wishes to inform the general public that Atty. Teklo Maxwell Grigsby, II Chairperson of the Commission has officially recused himself from all matters pertaining to, or that will arise out of the case involving the late Ms. Precious Ireland (niece of the Chairman) that requires the Commission’s intervention.
Chairman Grigsby indicated that his decision to recuse himself is pursuant to Chapter V section 2 of the Act creating the Liberia National Commission, which in pertinent part provides that, “Commissioners shall be required to disclose any potential conflict of interest that may hinder the full and objective execution of their duties”. ....
