Streats Taco Kitchen celebrates busy opening weekend in downtown Zeeland ZEELAND Streats Taco Kitchen has opened its doors in downtown Zeeland, and the response has been exceptional. It s been going really well, said Mitch Bakker, owner of IDA Design and 3D Properties in Zeeland. We were jammed on Friday, our first day. Saturday wasn t as busy, but pretty close. We figured a lot of things out and found a good balance. Bakker has long known his company s building at 14 S. Elm St. was an ideal restaurant space. This building sat empty for seven years, he said. We couldn t get a restaurant in, so we decided to do it ourselves. Our first event here was actually a retirement party for Amy Cheyne (of 3D Properties), who came up with the idea for tacos. This is the first building we bought together. ....
