Gas grid operators outline plans for expanded EU 'hydrogen highway'
Gas network operators from 11 countries have joined the European hydrogen backbone initiative, presenting an updated vision for a pure hydrogen network of nearly 40,000 kilometres by 2040. The vision document, outlined on Tuesday (13 April), is the updated version of a report presented last July, which envisioned a hydrogen pipeline network of 23,000 km covering 10 European countries: Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.
