German music producer Frank Farian - founder of the disco band Boney M - has died at the age of 82, according to his family.
Frank Farian also founded Milli Vanilli and No Mercy.
He never got the reappraisal that Abba did, but with covers of 60s psych, songs about the Troubles and an unerring knack for hooks, the late German songwriter leaves a daring legacy
Boney M was the brainchild of Farian, who put the band together with four singers in 1975.
