Firefighters rushed to the Jurston Cross area, near to Moretonhampstead, after receiving multiple calls reporting a "large heathland fire" on Dartmoor. A spokesperson for Devon and Fire Rescue Service said that crews left the scene yesterday evening after tackling the blaze and returned at approximately 2.30am today, to check for hot spots.
