Pittsburgh needs both startups and manufacturers in its bid to modernize industry, tech leader says
While manufacturing defines much of southwestern Pennsylvania's history, the sector continues to evolve toward a digital and automated future. If the region is to capitalize on this shift, its startups and legacy factories will need to work together to develop new products and processes, said the new managing director of the AlphaLab Gear startup accelerator, Mike Formica.
