Chief Mike Ozekhome, SAN, lawyer to Nigerian musician, Oladapo Oyebanji, famously known as D'banj has described his client’s detention by officials of the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC) as illegal and unconstitutional. D’banj was detained for three days after he was accused of allegedly fraudulently diverting hundreds of millions of naira earmarked by the Nigerian government for the N-Power project, an empowerment programme set up in 2016 to address youth unemployment and increase social development.
