Daniel Perry, a former US Army sergeant, was pardoned on Thursday by Texas Governor Greg Abbott over the July 2020 murder of BLM protestor Garrett Foster during a riot.
Abbott announced the pardon after the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles unanimously voted to recommend a pardon for Perry on Thursday.
