Mauston adopted a budget of nearly $6 million for 2024, including a tax levy of just more than $2.6 million.
Mauston appointed Daron Haugh, its deputy treasurer, to the administrator role on Sept. 26 following the resignation and termination of former administrator Randy Reeg.
Randy Reeg was criticized for his role in a dispute with a firefighter who was suspended for 30 days earlier this year.
Randy Reeg, who served as city administrator in Mauston for nearly five years, submitted a letter of resignation before the city terminated his contract.
