Steuben County NY first responder dies of COVID-19, remembered
The Leader CORNING - For more than 30 years, Daryl Tombs served as an emergency responder in Steuben County and was recalled as selfless, committed to his colleagues and community, and a devoted family man. Tombs, 52, a Critical Care Paramedic at American Medical Response, died Jan. 16 from COVID-19 complications, and he left an impact felt around the region after years of working for multiple fire departments, Steuben County Sheriff’s Office and as a dispatcher at Steuben County 911.
