The Maine Association of Realtors released its data on home sales

The heads of two local real estate agencies told conference attendees that investors are broadening their horizons in the search for southern Maine residential property, and "people will drive until they can afford it."

Industry leaders made their predictions for 2022 at the Maine Real Estate and Development Association’s annual real estate forecast conference Thursday.

While race- and ethnicity-based economic inequality long predates the pandemic, disparities have widened over the past year, economist Jeff Fuhrer told a Mainebiz virtual forum on Thursday. Fuhrer, a former top official at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, is now executive vice president and chief strategy officer at MassDevelopment, that state's finance and development agency.
