The Lighthouse Rescue Mission is receiving a much needed lifeline from the Tulare City Council to help with the unhoused crisis.

The community will have nine units on H Street, behind the mission's existing men's shelter. The village will feature a scenic courtyard and wraparound services, including job training and substance abuse treatment. "My faith is the biggest driver, so I think our directions are pretty clear as a Christian," said Dave Clevenger, who is overseeing the project. "If my neighbor doesn't have a house, doesn't have a job... it's my responsibility to give them an opportunity for a job and a house."
